Afterparty Update

Holy cow!  WordCamp St. Louis is less than 4 days away!  It seems like just yesterday we were started planning.  I’m really excited for everything we have in store for this weekend and I hope you are too.

I just wanted to pass on a quick update about the Afterparty (no `capital_P_dangit` oddly enough).  Due to some “crossed wires” the schedule originally listed the Afterparty as starting at 6pm, when in fact it is actually going to start at 7pm.  Also, we wanted to let everyone know that we’re going to have light appetizers, ice tea and lemonade, and a cash bar.  If you’re looking for a full dinner, there are dozen’s of restaurants within walking distance of City Museum and we hope that the extra hour between the end of the day and the Afterparty will allow you enough time to sample some of Downtown St. Louis’ vibrant culinary scene.

If you do decide to stop for dinner before coming to the Afterparty, don’t worry about being late as we are going to be climbing through caves, sliding down monster slides, and running around skateless skate parks until 11pm.  But don’t forget that we’ve got a full day of hands-on activities planned for Community Day on Sunday, so save some of your energy for helping then.

See you all soon!

Two weeks from today, we will all be gathering for WordCamp St. Louis! That night, we will be having an after party at one of St. Louis’ biggest attractions, the City Museum. The City Museum is a playground and interactive art piece for children and adults alike.

The City Museum has lots of options for parking. There are two lots that are owned by the City Museum, one is on site and the other is down Lucas Ave between 17th and 18th streets. Both lots are $5 to park. Between both lots, there are about 200 spaces. There is also lots of parking on the streets surrounding the museum as well as other pay-to park lots with pricing varying from $5 to $20.

We are excited to announce that this year’s WordCamp St. Louis afterparty will be at the City Museum! If you’ve never been to the CM, get ready for an amazing time. The City Museum is a 600,000 square foot mega playground that’s a blast for both children and adults.

The City Museum was opened in 1997 after artist Bob Cassilly purchased the former International Shoe Company and along with his crew, built the museum using found objects. The City Museum has features like old chimneys, salvaged bridges, cranes, and my personal favorite, a seven-story slide!

Free admission is included in the cost of your ticket to WordCamp St. Louis. There are still some tickets for WordCamp left. Get your ticket now!
